About ALEX Offener Kanal Berlin

ALEX Berlin is the non-commercial creative media platform of the Media Authority Berlin-Brandenburg. Originating as the city's Open Channel in 1985, it enables residents to produce and publish their own radio, television and online content.

The radio schedule reflects Berlin beyond mainstream broadcasting through programmes on society, politics, culture, independent music, queer life and youth perspectives. ALEX also covers public events and helps emerging media makers gain practical experience. Since 2026 its radio service has used DAB+ channel 12D across Berlin and parts of Brandenburg, alongside cable and streaming. Listen online for participatory broadcasting shaped by the capital's many communities.
