It launched on October 1, 1991, replacing Rádio Excelsior as the flagship of the Central Brasileira de Notícias (CBN) network, a pioneering all-news format in the country. Founded by the Sistema Globo de Rádio, it initially broadcast on AM 780 kHz before transitioning fully to 90.5 FM in 1995, with its AM signal discontinued in 2018. The station has moved studios several times, settling in 2021 at the Editora Globo headquarters in Jardim Paulista, reflecting its integration with Globo’s journalistic operations. It serves cities like Campinas and Santos through its network.
