About Kanal K

Kanal K is a non-profit Swiss community, music and training station for the Aargau and Solothurn region. Its carefully selected music differs from commercial formats, while programs in around 20 languages reflect the area's cultural diversity. Editorial projects cover culture, youth, integration, politics and sustainability, with much of the output produced by volunteers and community participants.

The station also provides radio-journalism training, school activities and opportunities for local people to create broadcasts and podcasts. Its current public-service licence began on 1 January 2025 and runs through 2034. Kanal K's website offers the live program, a weekly schedule, track service, news and a substantial podcast archive featuring local culture, languages and social topics.
