About Radio Ballade

Radio Ballade is a local, noncommercial community station for the Haute Vallée de l'Aude. Operated by Association Communication Montagne, it has been active since 1981 and broadcasts around the clock on 101.8 and 106 FM. About thirty volunteers contribute to a service built around local information, interviews, social issues, environmental programs and live coverage of regional initiatives.

The station is independent and carries no advertising. Its musical identity is eclectic, alternative and specialist, moving between jazz, blues, world music, electronic sounds, rock, reggae, hip-hop, rap, punk and metal. Radio Ballade supports discoveries from local, French and international scenes, participates in the Férarock federation and makes interviews, magazines and music programs available as podcasts.
