Radio BIP

About Radio BIP

Radio BIP is an independent community station broadcasting on 96.9 FM in Besançon. Its name stands for Radio Bisontine Indépendante et Populaire. The station emerged in 1981 from the earlier pirate service Radio 25 and became the first radio established in Besançon after French broadcasting rules opened the airwaves to local stations.

Operated by a nonprofit association, Radio BIP produces and broadcasts programs for Besançon and the surrounding area. Its independent editorial work gives space to local voices, interviews, public affairs and cultural coverage. The station's history is rooted in free expression and volunteer involvement, values that continue to shape its role as a local medium for information and debate.
