About Radio Tiferno Uno

Radio Tiferno Uno began in Città di Castello in 1976, when young local enthusiasts and radio amateurs built an early ten-watt transmitter. Its first official voices went on air on 5 December, reaching communities across the Umbrian and Tuscan Valtiberina.

The station established its community role early, notably maintaining a live information service after an earthquake in 1977. Radio Tiferno Uno continues that local tradition with music, presenters and coverage closely connected to Città di Castello and the surrounding valley.
