Radio Zai.net is part of an Italian educational media project that gives secondary school students practical experience in journalism, radio, podcasts, and multimedia production. The wider Zai.net initiative has worked with young people since 1999 and connects schools through journalist-led training and peer-to-peer learning.

Its broadcasts combine student voices with news, interviews, music, cinema and television recommendations, sustainability, climate topics, and discussion of current trends. The project promotes critical thinking, fact-checking, active citizenship, and informed use of media while providing a live online radio service.
