Founded on January 20, 1952, by journalist Januário Laurindo Carneiro, it started as an AM station on 610 kHz before expanding to 95.7 FM in 2000, following the earlier launch of Itatiaia FM in 1992. Acquired by entrepreneur Rubens Menin in May 2021, it has grown into Brazil’s most listened-to station, according to Kantar IBOPE Media in 2022, broadcasting to cities like Juiz de Fora and Montes Claros via its network.
