TRS The Radio Station began in Rome in February 1976 under the name Tele Radio Sicilia, part of Italy's pioneering free-radio movement. The service later adopted its English name and developed a strong musical identity around rock that endures beyond short-lived trends.

Its broad archive has included classic and progressive rock, blues, jazz, folk, Italian singer-songwriters, film music, older popular songs, new releases, and rare recordings. TRS is associated with 102.3 FM in Rome and has also made its programming available through online streaming.
