About Alternantes FM

Alternantes FM is an independent, non-commercial associative radio station based in Nantes, France. Founded in 1987 by a collective of associations and individuals, the station is run by a team of two paid staff and more than 70 volunteers who produce around thirty programmes. Its musical programming mixes genres such as rock, French chanson, pop, Celtic music, punk, funk, world music, and jazz, with an emphasis on little-known artists from independent labels. Alternantes FM also airs regular RFI news bulletins and features volunteer-led programmes on social issues, including the weekly show "Focus Africa" on Tuesdays from 7 pm to midnight.
