About Cam FM
Cam FM is the student radio station for Cambridge, run by volunteers from the University of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University. It offers an energetic mix of new music, specialist genres, campus discussion, and local arts and culture, giving a platform to emerging presenters, producers, and journalists. As an Ofcom‑licensed service, it combines professional standards with the creativity of student media, providing news updates, interview features, and lively banter that reflects life across the colleges and the city.
The station is a training ground as much as a broadcaster, helping students learn studio skills, production, and editorial responsibility while serving an audience beyond the campuses. Daytime shows are accessible and welcoming, while evenings open space for niche interests and society‑led programmes, linking the university community with Cambridge residents. Streaming and online information make it easy to listen on laptops and phones, and social engagement keeps conversation moving between shows.
