About CKHA Canoe FM 100.9
Broadcasting from Haliburton County, Ontario, CKHA operates as Canoe FM, a volunteer‑driven community station that reflects local life and culture. Programming blends eclectic music with spoken‑word content that highlights arts, events, and issues across the county’s towns and lakes. The station amplifies local voices, showcases independent artists, and offers a welcoming mix aimed at full‑time residents as well as seasonal listeners seeking a distinctly Haliburton perspective.
Canoe FM complements music with news briefs, weather, road conditions, and service information relevant to cottagers, businesses, and community groups. Fundraising campaigns, public service announcements, and coverage of festivals and markets help connect organizations with listeners. Streaming access lets supporters keep in touch when they are away, while call‑ins and studio visits foster participation. As a true community outlet, Canoe FM prioritizes inclusivity, training, and grassroots storytelling.
