About Kiakkoradio

Kiakkoradio delivers focused ice hockey coverage to its audience. Based in Finland, this station broadcasts on 89.0 FM from Tampere. It launched in September 2021 as Tampereen Kiakkoradio under Radio SUN Oy, replacing FUN Tampere to become the home of local teams Ilves and Tappara. Initially an offshoot of Radio Satahäme from 1985, it evolved into a dedicated sports channel by 2021, owned by Pirmediat. The station plays game commentary, pre- and post-match analysis, and rock music, featuring announcers like Juha Lindgren and Mikko Aaltonen covering Liiga matches.
