About Radio Béton
Radio Béton is an independent community station broadcasting on 93.6 FM from Tours. Created in 1984 and first heard in November 1985, it grew from the free-radio movement and has long championed music overlooked by mainstream media. The station is a member of the Férarock federation and remains an active cultural presence in the Tours area.
Its daytime service combines music, cultural agendas, interviews and reports, while volunteer-led evening shows explore specialist styles and ideas. The musical range includes punk, alternative rock, hip-hop, reggae, techno, ska, metal, noise, jazz, funk, soul and sounds from around the world. Radio Béton also founded the annual Aucard de Tours festival and regularly broadcasts from concerts and cultural events.
