About Radio Boomerang

Radio Boomerang is a free, popular and noncommercial local station broadcasting on 89.7 FM from Roubaix. It first went on air on June 13, 1981 after being created by the ARAVEL collective of local associations. Employees and around forty volunteers maintain a multicultural, intergenerational service that gives residents and community organizations direct access to the airwaves.

Local agendas, interviews, regional reports and outside broadcasts cover civic initiatives and cultural events across Roubaix and the Lille metropolitan area. The schedule also carries national and international news from RFI. Music moves from French chanson to rock, hip-hop and sounds from around the world, with established and unknown artists alike welcomed onto the station.
