About Radio Klara

Radio Klara is a free, self-managed station broadcasting from Valencia on 104.4 FM. Created by a libertarian collective in the early 1980s, it opened its microphones to social movements and perspectives often absent from conventional media. Its independent identity is sustained through collective organisation and a strong commitment to non-commercial communication.

Programmes examine politics, labour, ecology, civil rights and grassroots campaigns alongside cinema, literature and a wide range of music. The long-running Klartelera is known for detailed discussion of auteur and socially engaged films, while other contributors bring their own specialist interests to air. Streaming enables Radio Klara's alternative Valencian voice to travel well beyond 104.4 FM.
