About Radio Pooki

Radio Pooki began broadcasting in Raahe in 1989 and grew from a northern local station into a widely available Finnish radio service. It remains strongly associated with Finnish iskelmä and dance music rather than international chart pop.

Listener requests, familiar presenters, local information and entertainment create a close relationship with the audience. Regional broadcasts preserve the station's northern roots even as additional frequencies and online listening have expanded Pooki's reach around the country.
