About WDR 2

WDR 2 is Westdeutscher Rundfunk's popular public radio service for North Rhine-Westphalia. It combines national and international news with regional reporting, interviews, weather, traffic, sport, and practical information. Local windows ensure that listeners receive updates tailored to different parts of Germany's most populous state.

The music format focuses on current pop alongside widely recognised hits from recent decades. Presenter-led shows, comedy, competitions, and coverage of major events create a varied daily schedule. The online stream lets audiences follow WDR 2 throughout Germany and abroad while retaining access to the station's strong North Rhine-Westphalian perspective.
