About Yle Radio 1

Yle Radio 1 is the Finnish public broadcaster's national channel for culture, serious speech and broad musical exploration. Classical music forms a major part of the schedule alongside jazz, folk traditions and carefully produced programmes about the arts.

Documentaries, radio drama, religious broadcasting and in-depth current affairs offer space for subjects that need more than a brief news segment. The overnight Yöklassinen strand provides extended classical listening with minimal interruption.
