About Rádio AVFM
Rádio AVFM is the cooperative local station for the municipality of Ovar, broadcasting on 98.7 FM. Its operator, Antena Vareira, began activity in 1989 after growing out of Ovar's earlier Rádio Atlântico project and securing the local broadcasting licence.
A largely volunteer team produces local and regional news, eclectic music and numerous presenter-led programmes. AVFM also follows Ovar's culture and sport through interviews, reports, podcasts and video, giving the station a broader digital role alongside its FM service.
